Providence Logbook Apr 2, 1792

Remarks Monday 2nd April 1792 Towards Otaheite

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes and fine Weather. Three Tropic Birds about, and a small Bird that flies like a Plover Same as on 31st. last

 7 pm: In Steering Sails and first Reefs. Set Fore Top Mast Steering Sail.

 4 am: Wind seldom Steady to 3 or 4 Points

 6 am: Made all Sail

 8 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast – Sour Krout – Vinegar – Sweet Wort – Bore Cole thickned with Oatmeal & Portable Soup for dinner.

10 am: Washed below and Dried with Fires and prepared the Galley for Washing with boiling Water to kill Cockroaches and Vermin.—

11 am: Exercised the marines & fired – Painted Boats bottoms

12 noon: Fine Weather. Swell from the SW —
