Remarks Tuesday 3rd April 1792 Towards Otaheite

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes and fair Weather. Washed between Decks to kill Cockroaches, which were beginning to breed about the Galley. —

 4 pm: Lost a Log and Line – Great Swell from the South

 6 pm: Let fresh Water into the Ship and Ventilated with the pumps. In 1st. Reefs and Set Fore Top Mast Steering Sail

 8 pm: Fresh Gale

12 mid: A Little Squally with light Showers

 7 am: Scrubbed the Hammock Cloths —
Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast, Aired Bedding and gave clean Hammocks –
Read the Articles of War &c Served Slops & Tobacco.
 Sour Krout and Sweet Wort. —

12 noon: Strong Gale fair Weather and hazy. All Sail Set —
 Broached a puncheon of Spruce Beer for the Ships Company — Saw Flying Fish —
   Assistant in Company
