Providence Logbook Apr 1, 1792

Remarks Sunday 1st April 1792 Towards Otaheite

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes and fair Weather out all Reefs and Set Steering Sails

 3 pm: Saw a Tropic Bird, the Long Feathers of the Tail Red. —

 5 pm: People Employed mending Cloaths

 6 pm: Let Water into the Ship and ventilated with the Pumps as usual.

 8 pm: In Starboard Steering Sails

 1 am: Fresh Breezes and fine Weather in Steering Sails and 1st. Reefs – Shortned Sail occasionally for the Assistant. —

 5 am: Out Reefs and Set Steering Sails

 8 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast Krout – Sweet Wort at 10 OClock – Bore Cole in the Pease for Dinner —

10 am: Mustered the Ships Company Clean dressed, and perfomed Divine Service. A more healthy Set of Men were never seen. —

11 am: Saw three Tropic Birds

12 noon: Fine Weather. Swell from the SW. —
 Broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer for the Ships Company.–
   Assistant in Company—
