1856 continued

many too who were not in existence, have entered & is now acting their parts upon the stage of life.

Among the never-to-be-forgotten circumstances, which has transpired, in the course of the year that has just closed & which will also serve to render it memorable in the annals of our history, is that of the rite of Confirmation. Having been admitted into the bosom of our Church by the Sacrament of Baptism, & that too by persons who were not called for that purpose, in a little spot so very isolated, as to preclude all hopes of its being otherwise: To be permitted, even there to partake of the Mysteries of that Church, to which it is our blessed privelege to belong, by persons lawfully called is a blessing too signally displayed to allow of its being "Forgotten in unthankfulness"

But to be brought by Gods good Providence to a place where all our wants, both spiritual and temporal, may be supplied & where the adult portion of our community may renew & ratify in their own persons the "solemn vow promise and profession made for them at their baptisms, is what may well lead us to exclaim "Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how [?]searchable are his judgements and his ways past finding out."

Number of births this year 11 Deaths, 8.
