1:00 pm Dark Cloudy Weather and a very moist air
4:00 pm Saw a Fruit on the water which Mr. Nelson knew to be the Barringtonia of Forster.
6:00 pm Served 1/24 of a pound of Bread and a Jill of water for Supper.
12:00 am Very Squally weather constantly shipping water and miserably wet and cold.
8:00 am Served 1/24 of a pound of Bread and a Jill of water for breakfast.
9:00 am Saw Men of War Birds and some of the same kind of fruit as seen in the afternoon.
12:00 pm Ditto Weather and the Sun appearing at times. Served 1/24 of a pound of Bread and a Jill of water for Dinner. Always bailing and very wet. Got a tolerable observation.
As I saw no prospect of our getting our Cloaths dryed; I recommended it to every one to strip and wring them through the Salt water, by which means they received a warmth that while wet with Rain they could not have, and be more exempt from Catching Cold, and violent Rheumatic complaints.
In the afternoon we saw a kind of Fruit on the water which Mr. Nelson knew to be the Barringtonia of Forster, and as we met with the Same in the morning and some men of war Birds I was led to beleive we were not far from Land.
We continued constantly shipping Seas and bailing, and very wet & Cold in the night; but I could not afford the allowance of Rum at daybreak. The 1/24 of a pound of Bread and a Jill of water I served as usual.
