Bounty Logbook Remarks, Sep. 26, 1788

Thursday, Sep. 25, 1788

1:00 pm Fresh Gales and Fair Weather but a very thick haze round the Horizon.

5:00 pm Many Albatrosses and Peterels.

8:00 pm Strong Gale. In 2nd Reef Fore Topsail.

Friday, Sep. 26, 1788

2:00 am Lightning in the NW.

6:00 am Very Squally, Double Reefed the Main Topsail.

8:00 am Strong Gales and dark cloudy Weather with Rain.

9:00 am Served Portable Soup Gruel for breakfast and in the Pease for dinner as usual.

11:00 am Cleaned and dryed below with Fires and at 11 O'Clock Served a pint of Sweet Wort to each Man.

12:00 pm Ditto Weather but at Noon saw the Sun between the Squalls and got a good Observation Under Double Reefs.
