1:00 pm Strong Gales and thick Misty Weather with Rain at times.

4:00 pm Caught one of the Black Grey Albatrosses called by the Sailors Old Curates, with Hook and Line, nearly the same size as on the 25th. Saw one Pintada Bird and many Blue Peterels.

7:00 pmHanded the Main Sail.

10:00 pm More Moderate.

Saturday, Sep. 27, 1788

6:00 amSqualls of Snow, Sleet and large Hail.

8:00 am Fresh Gales and Fair Weather. Out Reefs.

9:00 am Served Portable Soup and Sweet Wort as Yesterday.

10:00 am Cleaned & dryed below.

12:00 pm Ditto Weather. Under Single Reefed Main Topsail and Top Gallant Sail and Mizen Topsail. Whole Fore Topsail and Fore Topmast Steering Sail.
