Friday, May. 16, 1788

1:00 pm Strong Gales & Cloudy and much Sea. One of my Quarter Masters by the Violent motion of the Ship was thrown down the fore Cockpit Hatchway and severely bruized.

9:00 pm Gale taking off set triple Reefed Fore Topsail.

Saturday, May. 17, 1788

6:00 am Moderate Gale. Out 3rd & 2nd Reefs.

8:00 am Cloudy Weather with some bright intervals. Cleaned and got every thing on Deck and dryed below with Fires.

12:00 pm Moderate Gale and Fair Weather. Up Main Top Gallant Yard. Filled a Ton of Water in the Spirit Room to bring the Ship by the Stern.
