1:00 pm Fresh Breezes & open Cloudy Weather. Employed Making Spun Yarn.

4:00 pm Fresh Gales and Squally with Rain.

Saturday, May. 3, 1788

6:00 am Hard Squalls.

8:00 am Fresh Gales & fair Weather out Reefs & set Fore Top Mast Steering Sail. Could get no Observation for the Variation.

10:00 am Got all bedding & Cloaths up of every kind to air & Cleaned well below & dryed with Fires. Served Sweet Wort, a pint a Man as Usual.

12:00 pmSqualls of Hail & Snow, much Sea from the Southward many flocks of Blue Peterels with some brown Albatrosses & Pintada Birds about us.
