1:00 pm Moderate Breezes and fair Weather. Set Lower, Top Mast & Top Gallant Steering Sails.

4:00 pm British Queen Courses down

5:00 pm In Main Top Mast & Top Gallant Steering Sails

7:00 pm Light Winds at times & Cloudy at others

8:00 pmSqually with light Rain.

Monday, Feb. 18, 1788

12:00 am Moderate & fair but the Wind very unsteady as to Strength – In lower Steering Sails.

4:00 am Faint Lightning in the Horizon

5:00 am Set the Lower & Top Gallant Steering Sails

8:00 am Moderate & Fine Clear Weather. Employed cleaning below & fitting a Set of Courses. Saw a Tropic Bird & many small Brown, Sheerwaters, Saw Two Tropical Gannets.

12:00 pm Moderate Breezes & fine Weather. In this Southern Tropic it is remarkably free of Haze. Allowing Trinidada in 20°30′S & 29°15′W as correct Noon N8W distance 31 leagues
