Tobin's Providence Logbook May 14-17, 1791



Saturday 14th Moderate and pleasant weather received on board Boatswains stores, got the Tops overhead and begain to rig the Bowsprit AM Employed stowing the Hold and setting up the lower Rigging Fore and Aft – Received 1 Quarter of Beef weighing 167 pounds

Sunday 15th. Moderate and pleasant weather – AM Ditto Weather received fresh Beef, and broached the third Cask of Beer

Monday 16th. Moderate breezes and fair weather – Received on board 5 Tons of Shingle Ballast – employed rigging the Main Yard and filling up the Ground Tier – served fresh Beef – Carpenters employed on board

Tuesday 17th. Moderate and pleasant weather set up the rigging fore and aft. employed taking in Carpenters Stores AM heavy gales with rain – got the spare anchors into the Hold – Served fresh Beef
