Monday 30  Moderate & Hazey Weather PM Made & Shortened Sail Occasionally AM Moderate & open Cloudy Weather Saw a Quaker bird unbent the new Fore Topsail & bent the Old one At Noon Ditto Weather Providence SW 1 Cable

Tuesday 31  Moderate & Cloudy Sailmaker Employed repairing the [lining?] of the Fore Topsail Carpenter Repairing the Small Cutter Saw some dark Sheerwaters at 10 In Fore Top Gallant Sail AM Fresh Gales & Squally with flying Showers a long following Swell Shiped much water on deck Saw several Blue Petrils & Quaker birds ... Handed the Main Sail ... Carpenter Employed as before At Noon Fresh Gales & Squally with Rain at times Providence SEbE ½ a Mile Served Sourkrout & Vinegar to the Ships Company

Wednesday 1  Strong Gales & Squally PM In Main Top Gallant Sail got down Top Gallant yards Close Reefed the Fore Topsail In 1st. & 2nd. Reefs of the Main Topsail 1st. Reef of the Foresail & 1st. & 2nd Reefs of the Trysail .. Struck Top Gallant masts Saw an Albetross & a Quaker bird ½ past 6 Set a Reefed Jib Middle part Ditto Weather AM Fresh Gales & Cloudy Out 3rd. & 2nd Reefs of the Fore Topsail & 2nd Reef of the Main Topsail Set a single Reefed Main Sail Fidded the Top Gallant Masts Saw some Albetrosses & Dark Sheerwaters Carpenters Employed repairing the Cutter At Noon Fresh Gales & Hazey Providence NbE ½ a Cable Served Sourkrout & Portable Soup

Thursday 2  Fresh Gale & Cloudy Weather at 2 PM More Moderate Out Reefs of the Topsails got up Top Gallant yards & set the Sails out Reefs of the Trysail Saw several Albetrosses & Passed some pieces of Sea Weed at 7 In 1st Reef of the Foresail AM Fresh breezes & hazey Made & Shortened Sail Occasionally carried away the Swing in boom of the lower Studding Sail Saw some Albetrosses & Sheerwaters At Noon Moderate & fair Providence East ½ a Cable
