Flinders's Providence Logbook Oct 27, 1792

Remarks Saturday October 27th H.M.S. Providence

 1 pm: Fresh Gale and fair Weather

 2 pm: Sailmakers repairing the second best Foresail Set Top Gallant sails

 4 pm: Ditto Weather

 6 pm: Before Dark – Took in the Top Gallant sails and Fore topmast Studding sail

 8 pm: Steady Fresh Gale and fine Weather

12 mid: Ditto Weather some flying Clouds – The Assistant ahead carrying a Light as usual

 4 am: Fine clear Weather

 5 am: Set Top Gallant sails and Studding sails forward

 6 am: Saw a Tropic Bird and some Sheerwaters

 8 am: Cloudy Weather Sun visible at Intervals Fires in the Cockpit Stoves People washing and mending their Cloaths – Saw great Numbers of flying Fish and a Carey Chicken – Took in Top Gallant sails and Lower Studding sail The Assistant not being able to keep ahead

12 noon: At Noon Fresh Gale and fair Weather Hazey about the Horizon
