Flinders's Providence Logbook Oct 28, 1792

Remarks Sunday 28th Homewards

 1 pm: Fresh Gale and cloudy Weather

 2 pm: Saw Tropic Birds – Set Top Gallant sails

 3 pm: People washing and mending their Cloaths

 4 pm: Carpenters reducing Chests

 5 pm: Pumped the Ship out as usual

 8 pm: Steady Fresh Breeze and fine Night

12 mid: Wind shifted, accompanied with a Light Shower of Rain – Hauled up the Main sail

 2 am: At 2 It cleared up and the wind settled at SEbE

 4 am: Cloudy Weather

 5 am: Set the Lower Studding sail

 6 am: Saw several flying Fish

 8 am: Fine Weather Fires in the Cockpit Stoves

 9 am: Ships Company mustered in Divisions, seen clean and Divine Service performed to them by the Captain

11 am: Spoke the Assistant, several of her People ill of Colds but are recovering all else well on board – A Cask of Spruce Beer broached as before

12 noon: At Noon Fresh Gale and fair Weather rather Hazey
  Assistant ahead in Company
