Remarks October 16th In the Indian Ocean – Homewards

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes and fair Weather

 2 pm: Saw a Number of Porpoises

 3 pm: Tobacco served to the Ships Company

 4 pm: Ditto and fine Weather

 5 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual

 7 pm: In royals and Top Gallant Studding sails

 8 pm: Clear Weather

12 mid: Cloudy

 4 am: Moderate Breezes and cloudy Weather Swell from the Southward – Made all Sail

 6 am: Saw a few flying fish a Gannet Booby and a brown Sheerwater

 8 am: Fine Weather

 9 am: Cleared between Decks washed below fore and aft and destroyed great Numbers of Cockroaches – Fires in the Cockpit Stoves

11 am: Spare Hands employed working up Junk

12 noon: At Noon Moderate Breezes and fine Weather Swell continues as before
