Remarks Wednesday October 17th H.M.S. Providence

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes and fine Weather

 2 pm: Carpenters making Alterations in the Green houses upon the Quarter Deck

 3 pm: People employed upon occasional Duty

 5 pm: Saw some Porpoises

 6 pm: Spoke the Assistant – In royals and Top Gallant studding sails

 8 pm: Fresh Breezes and fair Weather

 9 pm: Took in the studding sails and 1st reef of the Topsails

12 mid: Strong Breezes & Cloudy Weather

 4 am: Breeze rather moderated

 5 am: At Daybreak – Out reefs and set studding sails

 6 am: A cross Sea from the Southward

 8 am: Moderate Breezes and fair Weather
Fires in the Cockpit stoves

 9 am: People employed working up Junk Carpenters making Alterations in the Greenhosue and Cooper making Tubs for Plants

12 noon: At Noon Moderate Breezes and fair Weather
Assistant in Company
