Flinders's Providence Logbook Aug 27, 1792

Remarks Monday August 27th H.M.S. Providence

 1 pm: Moderate & fair Weather

 2 pm: The Whale boat sent on board the Assistant for Lieutenant Portlock – at 6 he returned

 5 pm: Several Birds and Fish seen – a Booby and a Noddy caught

 6 pm: Before Dark – In 2nd reefs

 8 pm: Ditto Weather some Sea from the ESE

10 pm: Several Birds flying about the Ship

12 mid: Fine clear Night The Assistant considerably ahead – set the Main top gallant sail

 4 am: Hazey

 5 am: At Day break Out reefs and made all Sail

 8 am: Cloudy – Exercised Great Guns and the Marines at Small Arms

11 am: cms repairing the old Main topsail

12 noon: Light Breezes and fine Weather but hazey about the Horizon
