Thursday 7th February First part fresh breezes and fair weather – Middle and latter part moderate breezes and cloudy. PM set up the Top Mast rigging. Sent John Russel & John Ryland marines, to the Hospital; also Samuel Dennis, Seaman, one of the three men who were wounded by arrows from the Natives of New Guinea. AM received 120 pounds of fresh Beef – Commodore Ford & some Captains &c. visited the ship and appeared highly satisfied by the disposition of the Plants and Charts of our late navigation. At 8 Hour.30′ His Excellency the Governor, General Williamson, visited the ship and was saluted with 19 Guns on coming and going away. received 110 pounds of fresh Beef.
