Sunday 23rd. Moderate breezes and cloudy weather employed watering and stowing the holds. At 7 the Dutch Brig sailed – AM sent Plants on shore by large cutter. Up Top Gallant Yards and loosed sails to dry. At 11 passed by an American ship. Furled sails. Received fresh beef and water cresses, which were served as usual to the ships company
Monday 24th Moderate breezes and fair weather people employed about the
rigging, Sailmakers repairing the old Main Top Sail, Carpenters blacking the Bends Opened a cask of
Pork. AM struck the Tend and received on board the remainder of the water – Employed stowing it
away. Up all Chests & bags, and washed the gun, orlop, and cockpit decks. Broached a puncheon of
Spruce beer. Served Borecole and Portable Soup thickened with Oatmeal for dinner
Ships Draught of water foreward 15 feet.03 inches abaft 15.00
Tuesday 25th. Moderate breezes and fair weather employed stowing the holds. AM sent a party to gather water cresses. Washed below and received a turn of water per launch. Struck, and hooped the Main Top Gallant Mast above the rigging. Served Borecole and Portable Soup; also Water Cresses.
Wednesday 26th. Moderate breezes and fine weather sent as usual to gather
water cresses and served them to the people. Employed in the Spirit room. Washed the gun, orlop, and
cockpit decks. Broached a puncheon of Spruce Beer.
50 Butts – 179 Puncheons – 59 Hogsheads – 48 [?] – 33 ½ Hogsheads of
water on board — Total 111 tons
