Bond's Providence Logbook Sep 28, 1792

Remarks &c towards Timor – 28th September 1792

 1 pm: Fresh breezes and fair weather

 2 pm: Cooper employed repairing Casks &c

 4 pm: Saw Boobies and Flying-fish.

 6 pm: Shortened sail, spoke ye Assistant, and in 1st reef Topsails

10 pm: Shortened sail to sound. made sail.

 2 am: Exceeding fine weather and Moon light – Observed a sea like the making of a weather Tide or current

 4 am: Fresh breezes and cloudy at 5 Hour.30 Minutes hove to

 5 am: At 5 Hour.45 bore away and made all sail. Saw a flock of birds of the Gull kind, ang great numbers of Flying fish

 8 am: Moderate breezes and fine weather saw Tropic birds Hazy Horizon. Served the usual Breakfast of Portable Soup Gruel – Cooper repairing Cables – Up all chests and Bags, and washed below. Sluiced the beams &c. well with water, which destroyed vast numbers of Cockroaches. – Carpenters employed chinsing the Cutter &c Sour Krout & Portable Soup in the Pease for Dinner.

12 noon:  Moderate breezes and fair weather with hazy Horizon.
