Bond's Providence Logbook Aug 1, 1792

Remarks &c Wednesday 1st August 1792

 1 pm: Light airs and Calm with drizzling rain & dark cloudy weather – Surveyed some old Rope per Order (viz the Master & 2 Mates)

 5 pm: At 5 the Assistant made ye signal for seeing Land – the weather cleared up and we saw Savage Island from the Mast head, bearing WbS½S distant about 7 leagues

10 pm: Dark cloudy weather with smart rain

12 mid: Thick weather

 1 am: Light breeze and small rain

 5 am: Very dark cloudy weather with small rain

 6 am: Cloudy; set Fore & Fore Top Mast Steering Sails

 7 am: Served the same breakfast as yesterday

 8 am: Light breezes and cloudy – got up all wet Clothes to dry and cleaned below – Set Royals & Top Gallant Steering Sails. Served Slops to ye Ships Company – Sailmakers employed repairing old Sails, and Carpenters variously People making Points &c. Served Krout, and Bore Cole & Portable Soup for Dinner

12 noon: At Noon Moderate breezes & Cloudy weather with small rain – Assistant in Company
