Bond's Providence Logbook Jul 29, 1792

Remarks &c towards Timor 29th July 1792

 1 pm: Fresh breezes and cloudy weather People employed washing and mending their clothes – Sailmakers employed repairing the ol Fore Top Sail Cooper employed making Tubs for those Plants of the Pots which were broken last night

 5 pm: Light rain, dow Fore Top Mast steering sail – worked the Pumps as usual

 7 pm: At 7 taken aback, but no squall – a little after very heavy showers of rain – Up Courses & in [?] reefs Top Sails – Carried a light in the Poop [?]

12 mid: Frequent showers of rain

 2 am: Light airs and cloudy weather

 6 am: Out 2nd reefs & made all sail – crossed Top Gallant Yards saw Tropic birds.

 8 am: Moderate breezes fair weather with a swell from SE – Loosed small sails &c. to dry – Served Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast (the 1st time since our arrival at Otaheite)

11 am: Up all Chests & Bags and wet Clothes to dry – Washed well below – Mustered the ships company in Divisions and performed Divine Service on the Quarter Deck

12 noon: Ditto Weather Assistant in company
   Latitude Observed 19°·15′·30″ South
