Bond's Providence Logbook Jul 27, 1792

Remarks &c towards Timor 27th July 1792

 1 pm: Fresh gales and cloudy with a cross grained sea

 3 pm: Strong gales, split the Fore Topsail unbent it and bent the 2nd best – Sailmakers employed repairing it, and people fitting the others. Worked the Pumps as usual, and at 5 close reefed Fore & Main Top Sails and handed the Mizen Ditto – handed the Mainsail also – At 6 up Fore Sail

 8 pm: Strong gales and cloudy with a high following sea, the ship rolling very deep – Down Fore Top Gallant Yard

 4 am: Strong gales and fair weather down Main Top Gallant Yard

 6 am: Set the Foresail, ship still rolling deep

 8 am: Out 4th reefs Fore & Main and set Mizen Top Sail – Sailmakers employed as before, people fitting the new sails

10 am: At 10 out 3rd reefs – Served fresh Pork as usual clean below

12 noon: At Noon fresh gales and cloudy with high disagreeable sea – ship rolling deep and the [?] deck leaking in the waterways – Assistant in company
