Bond's Providence Logbook Jan 28, 1792

Remarks &c Saturday 28th January 1792

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and fair. Employed making sennit, spunyarn &c.

 6 pm: Cloudy – saw several Albatrosses.

 7 pm: Let in water and pumped it out again

 8 pm: Moderate breezes and cloudy

12 mid: Made & shortened sail occasionally for the Assistant

 2 am: Fresh breezes with light rain and rather squally – In Top Gallant Sails and 1st reef Top Sails – a swell from the WSW.

 6 am: Out reef and set Fore Top Mast Steering sail

 7 am: Dark Cloudy weather.

 8 am: Served the usual breakfast. Washed the Gun Orlop & Cockpit Decks and aired with fires – Served Krout & Sweet Wort – At 9 down steering sail – People employed getting their Cloaths clean.

11 am: Squally in 1st reef Top Sails.

12 noon: At noon moderate and fair weather – Smooth water, & few birds to be seen
   Latitude Observed 39°:36′ South
