Bond's Providence Logbook Aug 16, 1791

Tuesday 16th August 1791

 1 pm: Light winds and fair weather

 4 pm: Cloudy – 4 sail in sight – A swell from the SW

 8 pm: Light airs and cloudy with Lightening in the NNW

12 mid: Threatning weather to the NW. A [?] at NNW with severe Lightning in the NE – Heavy rain. Shortened sail and took in 1st reef Topsails – At ½ past 1 clean weather sat Top Gallant sails.

 5 am: Fresh breezes and fair weather

 8 am: Employed cleaning ship, making mats, [?] spunyarn &c – dryed the small sails

12 noon: Clear weather Assistant in Company
   Latitude Observed: 43°.36′ North
