Bond's Providence Logbook Jul 13, 1791

Remarks on board H.M.S. Providence Wm. Bligh Capt.
Thursday July 14th, 1791[*]

 1 pm: Fresh breezes and cloudy weather. At 1 PM brought up in Girdlers Hole in 10 fathoms water. Beacon off the [?] sand NW. Buoy of Ditto N¼E. Girdlers Buoy SSW½W Handed sails, up Top Gallant yards weighed and made sail under single reef Top Sails. set Top Gallant Sails &c.

 6 pm: Abreast of Pan sand Beacon; out all reefs

 8 pm: Light breezes and cloudy weather.

 9 pm: North Foreland SbE 7 miles, and Margate SbW Came to with the small Bower in 8 fathoms. North Foreland SbW 5 or 6 miles

12 mid: Moderate and cloudy

 4 am: Weighed and made sail

 7 am: Handed the Mainsail

 8 am: Hove too off Deal – out Pinnace and the Captain went on board the Commodore. Found lying here HM Ships Ardent, Pomona and a Sloop of War

11 am: In Pinnace

12 noon: Moderate breezes and cloudy
 Assistant in Company
