1 pm: Light Winds and fair Weather. My Course is NWbN but as I only meant to make that Course eight points from the Wind the Yards were trimmed accordingly and is the cause of the variation in the Course.

 4 pm: Very Squally Weather with Rain. In 1st. Reefs.

 5 pm: Worked the Pumps.

 8 pm: Moderate and Cloudy Weather. Set Fore Top Mast Steering Sail.

 4 am: Fresh Gales and Cloudy Weather

 5 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast. Krout as usual

 7 am: Washed and Cleaned below. Aired with Fires.

 8 am: Employed mending Sails and Clothes.

11 am: Very hard Squalls & thick Weather. Shortned Sail to Double Reefs.

12 noon: More Moderate. Made more Sail.
 Assistant in Company, but cannot keep way with us when it blows Strong
