1 pm: Fresh Trade and thick Hazy Weather. Out Reefs and set Lower and Fore Top Mast Steering Sails

 2 pm: Employed chiefly in mending Clothes. My alteration of the Course is on account of the Wind. NW½N is the Course I meant to Steer.

 6 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual. In 1st. Reefs.

10 pm: Squally with Rain.

11 pm: In 2nd. Reefs

 5 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast. Portable Soup in the Pease for Dinner. Krout as customary.

 8 am: Mustered the Ships Company. Cleaned below and Aired with Fires. Performed Divine Service.

10 am: Saw Flying Fish. These have not so brilliant a colour as those seen in the South Sea.

12 noon: Fresh Gales and thick Hazy Weather. Under Double Reefs.
   Assistant in Company.
