Providence Logbook Nov 1, 1792

Remarks Thursday 1st November 1792

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes and Cloudy Weather. Opened a Cask of Pork No. 1 Contents 128 Double Pieces.

 2 pm: Sailmakers Employed repairing the Mizen Top Sail.

 4 pm: Confused Swell and Squalls of Rain about the Horizon.

 6 pm: Let fresh Water into the Ship and worked the Pumps as usual.
Saw a Tropic Bird.

 8 pm: Fair Weather. In 1st Reefs and set lower and fore Top Mast Studding Sails.

 1 am: Squally. Some light Rain.

 4 am: Dark Cloudy Weather. Out Reefs.

 5 am: Set Top Gallant Studding Sails. Scrubbed Hammocks.

 6 am: Saw many Flying Fish.

 8 am: Fair Weather. Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast. Portable Soup in the Pease for Dinner.

10 am: Cleaned & Aired with Fires. Exercised Great Guns & Small Arms. Served Slops and Tobacco. Read the Articles of War, &c.

12 noon: Moderate Breezes and fair Weather. Swell regular from the Eastward.
  Broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer.
   Assistant in Company
