Providence Logbook Aug 22, 1792

Remarks Wednesday 22nd August 1792

 1 pm: Moderate and fair Weather with much Haze

 2 pm: Employed Mending Mizen Top Sail

 6 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual.

 7 pm: In all Studding Sails and 1st. Reefs.

 9 pm: Squally in 2nd Reefs

12 mid: Cloudy Weather

 5 am: Fair Weather and Cloudy Out all Reefs and made all Sail

 6 am: Thick Portable Soup for breakfast as usual. Sout Krout and Portable Soup in the Pease for Dinner.

 8 am: Fine pleasant Weather with some haze.

 9 am: Aired below with Fires. Saw Tropic Birds and Flying Fish, and some Man of War Birds.

12 noon: Pleasant Weather and Cloudy with bright intervals. After much difficulty I got some Lunar Observations
   Assistant in Company.
