Providence Logbook Mar 25, 1792

Remarks Sunday 25th March 1792 Towards Otaheite

 1 pm: Moderate Breezes & pleasant Weather. Opened a Cask of Beef No. 1050 Contents 120 Double peices.–

 3 pm: People Employed mending their Cloaths, Cloudy. —

 6 pm: Let fresh Water into the Ship and Worked the pumps. In 1st. Reefs Set Fore Top Mast Steering Sail —

 9 pm: Fire all Night to Air Ship.

11 pm: Saw a Met[e]or in the SW which lasted a few Seconds like a plate of burning brandy held in the Wind.—

 4 am: Light Winds & Cloudy. Set Royals & all Sail

 8 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast Krout & Sweet Wort – Bore Cole in the Pease for Dinner. Bent the Old Top Sails —

10 am: Mustered the Ships Company clean dressed and performed Divine Service —

12 noon: Light Winds and fine Weather hazy Horizon Great Swell from SW. Broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer for the Ships Company –
  Assistant in Company. —
