Providence Logbook Mar 24, 1792

Remarks Saturday 24th March 1792 Towards Otaheite

 1 pm: Fair Weather and Moderate Breeze. People Employed Washing their Linnen

 5 pm: Worked the pumps to Ventilate the Ship

 7 pm: In 1st. Reefs of the Top Sail & Set Fore Top Mast Steering Sail

10 pm: Fire all Night to Air Ship

 2 am: Smart Squalls of Rain

 4 am: Fair Weather. Set Main Top Gallant and Lower Steering Sails

 6 am: Saw many Birds after a School of Fish. Porpoises and Skip Jacks.—

 8 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast Krout and Sweet Wort as usual —

10 am: Cleaned Ship Aired with Fires in the Fore and After Cockpits as usual. Employed mending Cloaths – Working up Junk & Exercised at small arms and fired —

12 noon: Moderate and pleasant Weather. Broached a Cask of Spruce Beer for the Ships Company. —
 Sent a Quarter of fresh Mutton on Board the Assistant.—
