Providence Logbook Mar 21, 1792

Remarks Wednesday 21st March 1792 Towards Otaheite

 1 pm: Fresh Gales and dark Cloudy Weather & Small Rain

 2 pm: Saw many Albetrosses and Sheerwaters

 4 pm: Squally

 6 pm: Let fresh Water into the Ship and Ventilated the Ship as usual. Handed the Main Sail In 3 Reef Fore Top Sail.—

 9 pm: Fair Weather. Fires all Night to Air the Ship.–

 4 am: Moderate and fair Weather. Out Reefs & Set Steering Sails

 8 am: Served thick Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast. Krout and Sweet Wort as usual. Bore Cold & Portable Soup mixed with pease for Dinner.–

10 am: Employed cleaning below, getting Water to hand, mending Sails & Cloaths, making Points and Spunyarn—Bent the old Mizen Top Sail–

12 noon: Light Winds and fair Weather. Great Swell from the SW. Assistant in Company.—
  Broached a puncheon of Spruce Beer
