Providence Logbook Feb 3, 1792

Remarks Friday 3rd February 1792 [Towards Van] Diemans Land

 1 pm: Fresh Breezes & fair Weather. Opened a Cask of Pork No. 1102 Contents 122 Double peices —

 4 pm: Cloudy - Let Water into the Ship and workd the pumps as usual. –

 7 pm: In 1st. Reefs –

10 pm: Wind freshening. In Studding Sails —

 3 am: Fresh Gales and Cloudy Weather

 4 am: In 2nd Reefs Top Sails.

 6 am: In 3rd Reef Main Top Sail and close Reefed the Fore Top Sail.

 7 am: Misty Weather

 8 am: Strong Gale and thick misty Weather with very hard Squalls. Reefd the Fore Sail & Main Top Sail and handed them. Set the Fore & Main Stay Sails and a Fore Stay Sail for a Mizen Stay Sail Down Top Gallant yards —

12 noon: Hard Gales and thick Rainy Weather with much Sea and frequent hard Squalls. —
