Remarks Tuesday 31st January 1792 Towards Van [Diemans Land]

 1 pm: Dull Cloudy Weather

 8 pm: Gale increasing In Steering Sails and 2nd Reefs Top Sails. - handed the Main Sail

12 mid: Very fresh Gale in 3rd Reef Fore Top Sail. –

 3 am: Rain

 4 am: Dark Cloudy Weather

 6 am: Squally with Showers

 8 am: Fair Weather & Squalls. – Cleaned & dried below with Fires. — Served Portable Soup Gruel for Breakfast –

10 am: Krout as usual & Sweet Wort at ½ past 10. —

11 am: Down Top Gallant Yards.

12 noon: Hard Gale and Fair Weather with Squalls Close Reefd the Top Sails and handed Fore Top Sail. — Some Albetrosses and Sheerwaters about. —
  Assistant in Company but cannot keep way with us. —
