1SEBS53 Fresh Gales and clear Wr. Set the Carpenters to Caulking, Boatswain about the Rigging and all the necessary duties forwarded without delay. Fresh meat & Greens as usual.

Monday2SEBS54 Fair Wr. & Fresh Gale. Anchored the Java a Dutch East India Man from Ceylon. Empd caulking and refitting the Rigging and in the Hold. Hauled the Seine and Caught mullett sufficient to serve all hands. Fresh Meat &ca. as usual. Found the damaged Bread remaining after being most careuflly checked taking off ⅓ for Wet to amount to 7560 lbs and also 30 Bags that were laid at the bottom of the Bread Room totally rotten and unfit for any use whatever. Found two Puns Pork totally unfit for use the Nikle being taken out.

57 Fine Wr. Empd. Caulking the [?]. In the Hold, Cooper & Armourer on shore, Sailmakers at work about the Sails. Served fresh Meat and Vegetables as usual. Hauled the Seine & served Fish.

At 1 PM Fired 21 Guns in Commemoration of His Majestys Birth Day. I now took the Thermometer on shore to know the temperature of the Air the Time Keeper stood in.
