we were nearer being swamp'd than we any time got but found [?] still took in tow, at this time the land appear'd in sigh[t] which form a fine Bay in to which we steer'd — after we had got round the Point onto smooth water — we saw a dog runing on the beach, then we saw two or three huts. after runing a little farther we saw several caribous or small Bullocks — we Row'd in for the shore and Captn Bligh said that Messrs Cole & Peckover should go to the Place where we saw the Huts — and the rest was to stay by the Boat — those two was land'd and was gone some time and return'd as Captn Bligh say in his

Narritive — after we got up to the place where the Governour was, Captn Bligh as he say went onshore Soon after there was a message came to me that I was to send everyone onshore except one man who was to stay with me by the Boat — I emmedially hauld the Boat anchor onshore and land'd every one agreeable to [order?] — Jno Smith, Captn Bligh man I told to stay with me — this poor fellow would have been very glad to a gone with the rest but I told him that there was several things belonging to Captn Bligh in the Boat and he could stay and take care of them —
