Dear Sir

I am again baffled in my second attempt to get down channel, and my People having caught severe colds has determined me to put back to this place as it is far better than if I put into any other this side of Plymouth, and I consider myself as forward in my Voyage without the risk of damaging the Ship or hurting the health of my Men & Officers. The New Moon I hope will give us a change of Wind & weather when I shall most chearfully set sail again. I am
