Remarks in Toahroah Harbour Tuesday 13th January 1789

Ditto Weather and Winds. Thermometer 80° & 81½°. Five Venereals in the List.

Armourer and other Hands employed as yesterday. In order to enable me to carry more Plants, I laid aside what benefit might result to me from carrying fresh stock in my Hen Coops, and I therefore set the Carpenters to work to take them away, and fit a place for Plants on the after part of the Quarter Deck where they stood.

This morning before day my Friend Oreepyah set off for Tetturoah with two Cannoes having given me the fullest Hopes the Deserters should be brought back. Moannah was to have gone with him, but on some account he did not get ready and cannot go untill to morrow morning when he is to set off on the same business, so that between them I hope there is little doubt of success.
