Bounty Logbook Remarks, Aug. 1, 1788

Thursday, Jul. 31, 1788

1:00 pm Fresh Breezes and thick Rainy Weather. Many Albatrosses and Peterels about.

4:00 pm Light Airs and Calms. Swell from the SW. Took the Sails in to prevent their being beat to peices from the violent motion of the Ship.

8:00 pm Light Breezes set sail

Friday, Aug. 1, 1788

2:00 am Tacked

8:00 am Served Portable Soup and Krout as usual. Cleaned and Aired below. Employed drawing and knotting yarns, repairing the services of the Rigging and other necessary duties.

12:00 pm Fair Weather but theatning much dirt from the Southward and Westward.
Many Albatrosses of all the different kinds. Blue Peterels, a few Pintada Birds and the Common Sheerwaters.
