Monday, Jul. 7, 1788

1:00 pm Strong Gales with severe Thunder Lightning and Rain.

3:00 pm More Moderate set Double Reefed Topsails and Main Sail

5:00 pm A very confused Sea and Riplings like strong Currents.

8:00 pm Calm and very severe Lightning. The Air emitting frequently a sulpherous smell.

10:00 pm Hard Squalls and dark Gloomy Weather severe Lightning from every Quarter. Handed all the Sails but the Foresail.

Tuesday, Jul. 8, 1788

1:00 am Set the Main Sail

4:00 am Hard Squalls and Rain but not so much Lightning

7:00 am Set close Reefed Main Topsail

8:00 am Strong Gale and Cloudy Weather. Many Birds coming before the Squalls

10:00 am Employed cleaning and airing the Ship with Fires.

12:00 pm Strong Gales and Cloudy Weather. Pintada Birds, Albatrosses, Blue Peterels, Dark brown Sheerwaters and Port Egmont Hens. Under close Reefed Main Topsail and Courses
