Monday, May. 12, 1788

1:00 pm Winds Freshening & dark Cloudy Weathe with Squalls of Rain. In 1st Reefs.

4:00 pm Fresh Gales & heavy Cloudy Weather with Squalls. In 2nd Reefs.

6:00 pm Opened a Puncheon of Beef No. 1292 Contents 86 Double peices short One.

8:00 pm Steady Fresh Gale, out 2nd Reefs.

Tuesday, May. 13, 1788

2:00 am Moderate Gale, out Reefs & set Steering Sails.

4:00 am Fair Weather.

8:00 am Ditto Weather. Hauled all the Cables up. Got all bedding to Air & Cleaned & dryed below with Fires.

10:00 am Saw a Whale.

12:00 pm Fine Weather under all Sails. Begin to Serve Whole Allowance of Bread. A few Albatrosses and Pintada Birds about.
