1:00 pm Light Airs & fine Weather.

5:00 pm Employed at the Pumps as usual

11:00 pm Set Steering Sails the Starboard side

Sunday, Mar. 2, 1788

2:00 am In Steering Sails from the Larboard side

6:00 am Caught three Bonitos

8:00 am In Main Top Mast & Main Top Gallant Steering Sails.
Musterd saw all hands Clean Read the Articles of War and performed Divine Service. I now thought it for the good of the Service to give Mr. Fletcher Christian an Acting Order as Lieuenant. I therefore ordered it to be read to all hands.

12:00 pm At 11 Very Squally. Rain & Thunder. Clewed all Sails up & I took this opportunity to Sound with 240 fathoms line, but found no Ground. At Noon fair Weather and made all Sail. Whales seen but no Birds.
