Bounty Logbook Remarks, Jan. 31, 1788

Wednesday, Jan. 30, 1788

1:00 pm Fine Weather. As soon as I found all kind of dampness which the closness of the Weather and Rain last Evening had occasioned was gone off from giving free access of Air to every place below, then ordered all parts to be washed with Vinegar and by the Evening the Ship was perfectly Sweet & refreshing.

10:00 pm Faint Lightning all around & a prodigious number of Porpoises about the Ship. The Sea full of numerous massive Animals.

Thursday, Jan. 31, 1788

6:00 am Cloudy Weather. up all bedding and every Hammock to be shifted which was done before breakfast & ship Aired [Swept?] and Cleaned.

10:00 am Employed making points.

12:00 pm Fine Clear Weather.
