1:00 pm Fresh Breezes & Light passing Squalls all around us, as in the Neighbourhood of Land, but no other signs.

8:00 pm Moderate & Clear Weather.

Friday, Jan. 4, 1788

4:00 am Set Steering Sails.

5:00 am Spoke the Fanny of London Jn[?] Kenton Master Bound to the Coast of Guinea. Out 12 Days.

8:00 am The Weather now very hazy as it is mostly found to be within the limits of the Trade Winds. Spoke a French ship bound to the Mauritius.

12:00 pm Fresh Breezes & very hazy Weather with a long swell from the North. No Birds or Fish seen.
