1:00 pm Moderate & Cloudy Weather.

2:00 pm Employed in the Hold & picking and drying Bread.

5:00 pm Wind unsteady to two & three points.

8:00 pm Wind varying four & five points.

Tuesday, Jan. 1, 1788

1:00 am A little Squally & some Rain. In 1st Reefs.

8:00 am Moderate & fair Weather, found the Bread in the Bread room much more damaged near the Transoms, and One Cask of Cheese entirely Rotten in the Fish Room. Employed picking & drying Bread, Serving the Rigging & Cleaning below.

12:00 pm At Noon fine pleasant Weather. Swell from the N.W. The Wind seldom Steady to two or three points. All Sails set.
