[H M S Providence – Moored in Port Royal Harbour] Jamaica – 1793

Remarks &c

Monday 13th First and latter parts light breezes with constant rain – middle part light airs and dark cloudy weather PM gave Liberty to Part of the Ships company – AM at Day Light sailed H M. Packet Tankerville for England – Cleaned below and aired with fires

Tuesday 14th First and latter parts fresh Gale and constant rain, middle part light rains & dark cloudy weather – AM Fires in the Cockpit & between decks – Received 90 pound of fresh beef

Wednesday 15th First part moderate breezes and thick weather constant Rain – middle part heavy Squalls & rain – Latter part fresh breezes with heavy Showers – PM Arrived a french Brig prize to the Polly & Jane Privateer – Fire in the Cockpit & between decks – Carpenters employed taking down the Officers bulkheads of the Cabins – Received no fresh Beef Made the Advices Signal for a Midshipman

Thursday 16th First and middle part fresh Gale with thick haze & constant rain – latter part fresh Gale and fair with a slight haze – PM held a survey on board H. M. Cutter Advice on [?] – Fires in the Cockpit & between decks – Carpenters employed on board the Advice Schooner & shifting the Bulk heads – received 90 pound of fresh beef – washed the Gun, Orlop & cockpit decks – at 9 arrived here the St. Joseph Spanish Sloop of war from Carthagena – Aired the Colours
