Remarks &c

April 1793

Thursday 25th Moderate breeze and fine weather all these 24 hours PM furled sails – made the Signal for a Messenger and a Kittereen – arrived a french schooner prize to the Spitfire – made Signal to Pen of it – Took charge and brought down from Kingston the L'Esperanza – Masters name [Albertie?] The schooner that brought the French Gentlemen here under dutch colours – Sailmakers as yesterday – carpenters & Gunners as necessary – Received fresh beef

Friday 26th Moderate breezes and fair weather these 24 hours – PM People employed securing the Hyanas Prizes. AM. Sailmakers as yesterday, and Carpenters – entered one volunteer seaman – brought on board the 4 remaining Men from L'Esperanza – Received 120 pound of fresh beef – made Signal for weekly accounts

Saturday 27th First part moderate breezes with Showers of rain – middle & latter part light airs and fair weather – Sailmakers, Carpenters, & Gunners as yesterday People fixing the Quarter Deck netting – entered 5 volunteer Seamen – Got up all Chests and Bags & washed all the Decks – loosed Sails to dry – Exercised marines at small Arms – received fresh beef sent the small cutter with the 2d Lieutenant to enter men – Furled Sails

Sunday 28th First part moderate breezes with showers of rain – middle & latter part light breezes & fair weather PM people mending their cloaths – entered 8 Volunteer Seamen – AM loosed Sails to dry – received 135 pound of fresh Beef – Mustered in divisions – furled sails – gave liberty to part of the Ships Company

Monday 29th First & middle part light breezes & fair weather latter part fresh breezes & hazy – Carpenters & Sailmakers as yesterday – People fixing quarter deck netting – entered two volunteer Seamen – Unbent the Foresail & Main Sail – arrived a french Brig prize to the Proserpine Europa & Fly – Sent the Yard schooner with the 2d Lieutenant to Salt River – arrived a french schooner prize to the Tyger Privateer
