[H M Ship Providence from St Helena Islands towards] St. Vincents in the West Indies – 1792

Monday December 31st

 1 pm: Moderate breeze and fine weather

 3 pm: Saw flying fish

 4 pm: Ditto Weather

 6 pm: Worked the Pumps as usual

12 mid: Moderate breezes and clear weather

 4 am: Ditto Weather

 7 am: Served thick portable Soup gruel for Breakfast

 9 am: Ditto Weather – cleaned below and aired with fires – Sailmaker repairing the foresail – Exercised great guns and small Arms – Borecole and portable Soup mixed with oatmeal for dinner – and the weekly allowance of Vinegar

12 noon: Moderate breeze & fine weather – Latitude Observed 8°..36′ South
