H M Ship Providence from St Helena Islands towards [St. Vincents in the West Indies – 1792]

Sunday December 30th

 1 pm: Moderate breezes and cloudy weather

 2 pm: People washing and mending their cloaths

 4 pm: Saw flying fish – Sailmaker repairing the Foresail – Worked the Pumps

 7 pm: In Royals

 8 pm: Fresh breezes and cloudy

12 mid: Ditto Weather

 4 am: Ditto Weather

 5 am: Set the Royals – Saw flying fish & a Tropic Bird – Served thick portable Soup gruel for breakfast

 8 am: Md breezes, cleaned below and aired with the Stoves – Mustered the Ships Company in divisions and performed divine Service

12 noon: Md breeze & fine weather – Assistant in Company Broached a Puncheon of Spruce Beer
